Lion of Judah Women Global Initiative (LOJWGINIT) is a Non-Governmental Organization and not-for profit making entity initiated by Mrs. Gbaishima Matilda Deborah, an astute administrator, technocrat,a philanthropist,humanitarian affairs specialist, an advocate,campaigner,an interventionist and entreprenure, with an extraordinary passion,vision and calling with a divine mandate and a compassionate mother’s heart for the less privileged in the society,to help,protect, defend and support the vulnerable by bringing healing and empowerment.
The organization was born out of the need to alleviate the untold hardships and myriads of problems faced by the rural communities in Nigeria ranging from underdevelopment, unemployment, poverty, poor health and educational systems as well as the increasing environmental challenges facing third world nations like Nigeria.
Her passion for the less privileged propelled her to start first, by mobilizing the youth especially the girl-child and young women together in her church and giving them tutorials on skills acquisition ranging from Liquid Soap making, Bleach, Air Freshener, Shampoo, Vaseline, Perfume, Powder, hair-do, e,t,c
The core idea behind her providing these services which were freely conducted was to empower the Adolescent Girls and Young Women (AGYW) to become self reliance and producers as well as raise their standard of living as they would be provided with the skills to engage into economic earnings ventures.
She therefore was poised to strengthen the Target group to overpower ignorance, poverty, and explore contemporary avenues and economic empowerment opportunities that will enhanced their entrepreneurship potentials to help them contribute positively to the development of the society.
Not long had she ventured into carrying out the training tutorials that attracted the attention of good and spirited individuals who started donating to sustain her dreams that helped in expanding the scope of her interventions.
As time went on, it was only proper to form an organization which will stand the test of times and would have the legal ingredients to attract more interventions. Thus the formation of Lion of Judah Women Global Initiative (LOJWGINIT) is to solve the problem of a credible and standard organization where its platform would be used to access more intervention to the target group. The NGO was also established to complement Government efforts by undertaking programmes and activities that which are community based in order to give and restore life to the vulnerable populations in the society.
In achieving its sets goals and objectives Lion of Judah Women Initiative will partner with International NGOs, Local NGOs, stakeholders, corporate bodies and individuals who share in our vision and mission and are working in similar areas of our interventions.
Founded in 2015, the organization is recognized by government as it is registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) in 2019 with certificate No: CAC/IT/NO/137479. Our corporate headquarters is in Makurdi, Benue State States.
Within a span of time, Lion of Judah Women Initiative has rapidly grown into the league of one amongst the few NGOs working in the Humanitarian and Development interventions.
Our success story is evident in the implementation of development and people-oriented programmes which cut-across North Central, North-West, North-East, South- East and South-South states carrying out interventions on the vulnerable population particularly, Persons With Disabilities (PWDs), Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) the Aged, Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVCs), Women as well as Youths.
Lion of Judah Global Women Initiative envisage a society where the vicious cycle of poverty, rejection, abuse of persons with disabilities, molestation, human trafficking and Gender inequality is broken and hope is restored for a harmonious society and fullness of life for the vulnerable and disabled population.
In realization of our vision, Lion of Judah Global Women Initiative, advocate and campaign for the well-being of those Living-With Disabilities and the vulnerable population to live meaningful lives and have access to fundamental Human Rights.
